Response to percussion
Before starting endodontic therapy the tooth should be tested on inflammation of the periodotal ligament. The tooth should not be in occlusion. Even after a perfect endodontic treatment there can be more pain if a tooth is to high. In this way many medicins are prescribed unnecessary.
The patient can get so many complaints that extraction seems the only resolution!

Tip:
It is wise to lower the tooth before the length is measured. References for the length of the tooth do not change then (Especially when more visits are necessary).
