Pocket depth

If, with the element to be treated, the pocket meter indicates an evidently deeper pocket than with other elements, it can be an indication for an endo/paro problem. Furthermore an element with a pocket of 6 mm or more has an evidently worse prognosis than an element without a pocket, in which re-infection through lateral canals is playing a part. Also the increased chance of a larger mobility with a bigger pocket depth influences the prognosis negatively.
Be prepared for vertical fractures!
